Meetings

Thursday, November 16, 7:00 pm, The Flying Machine Restaurant, 510 Briscoe Blvd, Lawrenceville

Who can you trust for accurate information about Israel?

When we have questions, we go as close to the source as possible, and for us, that is George Birnbaum, former Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We are privileged to have George as our speaker for our November meeting, bringing insights, details, and background you will never get from any US media.

George has worked with the Israeli government since the nineties as a consultant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign. He has remained extremely active in Israeli politics, working for the campaign of Nir Barkat for mayor of Jerusalem, Avigdor Lieberman and his Yisrael Beiteinu political party in national elections, and the 13th Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett.

While his main focus has always been Israel, Mr. Birnbaum has worked on campaigns in the US (Ben Carson), the Czech Republic (Prime Minister Petr Nečas), the Chancellor of Austria (Alfred Gusenbauer) and Prime Ministers of Romania and Bulgaria, among others.

George holds the record for being our most popular speaker in the past. Just back from Israel, I am certain that this will be an evening that you will remember.

Thursday, December 21, 7:00 pm, The Flying Machine Restaurant, 510 Briscoe Blvd, Lawrenceville

Congressman Rich McCormick!

Tuesday, ????, 7 pm – laMadeleine French Bakery & Cafe, 1795 Mall of Georgia Boulevard, Buford, GA

Agenda: TBD

Upcoming meeting dates, Lord willing:

While we used to meet three times a month – on the First Thursday in Lawrenceville, the Last Monday in Cumming, and on the Last Tuesday in Suwanee/Buford – since all the shutdowns we have moved to just one meeting a month at our Lawrenceville location.

Meetings are open to anyone, and all are welcome!  Each meeting is different and many people attend more than one.  All meetings start at 7:00 pm.  If you attend the Lawrenceville or Buford meeting you have the option to purchase food if you arrive early.  No food is available in Cumming.  Dress is casual, and the meetings officially end at 8:30 although many people stay around to ask questions and enjoy the discussion.  All our meetings are family-friendly, and we encourage you to bring your children who are interested in learning more about our government!

We usually have a guest speaker which may include local, state, and national figures. We also pride ourselves in enabling all to have a voice with the will to do so and time permitting. We believe in a Constitutional Government with elected representation and laws applicable to all equally. Please come and join us in our quest to bring greatness, unity in patriotism, and liberty back to our nation.

Covid-19: The Attack on the Constitution. Lies, Evil, and Corruption Exposed.

The documented events, evidence, and people responsible for the devastating impact of the decisions made. Not just what happened but why and how, and what might be coming in the next few months.

Retired Johnson & Johnson executive Duane Armstrong got his start at Abbott Labs before moving to the pharma division of J&J, where he ended up as their Business Director for the Southeast Region. After seeing what happened during COVID, Duane was furious at the lockdowns and mask mandates. He took his knowledge of pharma, the medical industry, and infectious diseases and started doing his own research. On Thursday, he will be speaking publicly and sharing the results of his three-year quest to uncover the people and motives behind one of the biggest frauds of our time and predict what might happen in the coming months.

Captain Baron V. Reinhold, USN (ret.)

Captain Reinhold’s Navy career began in 1985, and he has been deployed all over the world. Starting in Hawaii, his missions included serving as a Naval Flight Officer in the Persian Gulf, Mission Aircraft Commander with Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, Security Officer in Bahrain, and then back to Hawaii as Commanding Officer of the “Wizards” at the Marine Corps Base at Kaneohe Bay.

Conservatives and Liberals are moving further apart. As we celebrate our nation’s founding, is it possible to agree at least on some issues?

Join us as we have representatives from both sides present their arguments.

Panelists:

  • Mark Gonsalves – Republican candidate for US Congress, 7th District
  • Lucretia Hughes of Turning Point USA
  • Surrea Ivy, wife, mother, and conservative activist
  • Richard N Wright, 2021 Democratic candidate for Atlanta Mayor
  • Scout Smith, Democratic Strategist and operative, Former Chair Rural Caucus of the Democratic Party of Georgia, and Former Chair of Troup County Democratic Party

“The Free Market Warrior” Loren Spivack will be our main speaker this month. Loren is a popular author, economist, political activist, and highly sought-after speaker on economics and small government, who teaches vital lessons with clarity and humor. As you may have heard from his appearance on Glenn Beck’s show, he even had his mall kiosk shut down because of anti-Obama material. We are truly excited to have the opportunity to hear him in person!

Also – Georgia Lieutenant Governor candidate (and long-time GA activist) Jeanne Seaver will travel from the GA coast to talk about her vision for Georgia and the 2022 elections. What an evening!

What happened November 3?

This is the question we need to answer, and one person at the center of it all is Garland Favorito from VoterGA.

Georgia Senator William Ligon, from Brunswick. He’s been outspoken on voting “irregularities” and will address the vote and where we go from here. Senator Ligon was the driving force behind the two Senate hearings at the Georgia Capitol. Think the November election in Georgia is settled? Not by a long shot!

Dr. Jane Robbins, an attorney and retired senior fellow with the American Principles Project, led a discussion about the race and the candidates.  Brenda Stoll, a registered nurse and a former member of the GCPS Community Health Education Advisory Committee, discussed health education programs that not only promote the healthiest choices for school-age children, but also respect their innocence, the rights of parents and family values.  We also introduced the Write-In candidate for District 5, who made a brief appearance at the end of our meeting.

Tea Party activist Lucretia Hughes leads a discussion on current events, God, Country, and the re-election of President Trump!

Attorney Zach Procter explains what you can, can’t, and should do if you are trapped in your car during a riot.

7th District Candidate Renee Unterman

Long-time Georgia Legislator Renee Unterman will be talking about her campaign for Congress as well as important legislation at the State Capital.  Renee was a driving force in Georgia’s Heartbeat Bill and will let us know what she believes the future holds for that important legislation.

FACT based 287(g) presentation – Finally!

Last month a gaggle of groups who want an end to Gwinnett’s 287(g) program preached their message at an event billed as a “community forum.” Predictably, attendees quickly discovered that the event was not designed to educate anyone about the program, and those looking to be informed instead left confused. The only 287(g) facts were presented by members of the audience, not the panel, who made every attempt to stop the truth from coming out.

Shirt worn by member of group that sponsored the last 298(g) forum.

Want to learn what 287(g) really is? On November 7th we are hosting an honest forum presented by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department that will accurately explain the program and look at how it benefits Gwinnett County. We will cover some details conveniently left out of last month’s event such as:

287(g) Saves taxpayer’s money
287(g) Promotes public safety
287(g) Helps rescue victims of Human Trafficking
287(g) increases the safety and security of illegal aliens

Hopefully some of those who protest this program will be honest enough to attend and hear the truth about 287(g). But be advised – knowing the facts may just cause you to change your opinion!

NOTICE – We will start this meeting, as we start all our meetings, with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. If you are worried that this may offend you feel free to wait outside during the first ten minutes. But at least we can guarantee that our meeting will be a “safe zone” as many of those who attend will be armed.

7th District Congressional Candidate Mark Gonsalves
Mark is one of the top contenders for the Republican nomination for the 2020 election for Congress for the 7th District.  He is well rounded, but one of his main issues is our national debt and deficit spending.  A successful business leader, innovator, investor and marketing executive, Mark Gonsalves has spent a lifetime leading businesses through periods of rapid change. Like you, he is tired of watching partisan political food fights when America’s mounting problems demand courageous leadership now more than ever.

Dr. Richard “Rich” McCormick, candidate for Congress, 7th District.

Rich has over 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps (helicopter pilot) and Navy (Department Head for the Emergency Medicine Department in Afghanistan).  It is important that you get to know the candidates for Congress and this will be a great chance to meet one of the frontrunners.  Fun fact – Rich was the Marine selected to be their representative in the final shot of this classic commercial from over 20 years ago.

Trump Rally Watch Party

The Georgia Trump Campaign asked us if we would help host a watch party for a big rally that the president is holding on Thursday.  Of course, we said “YES!”

The rally will be in Ohio and while we cannot be there in person, we can be there in spirit.  The United Tea Party of Georgia is joining with the GAGOP 7th Congressional District and several other groups to host the event at our usual location for our Lawrenceville meetings.  Just come to the Flying Machine on the first Thursday of August (like you usually do anyway) and you will find yourself surrounded by Trump Supporters.

Georgia 7th District Congressional candidates Jacquelyn Tseng and Mark Gonsalves.

As best I can tell there are 15 candidates for Georgia’s 7th District – Five Democrats and ten Republicans. Many of the candidates have already raised over a half a million dollars, so this will be quite an expensive campaign. And you can count on the Democrats going all out!

Jacqueline Tseng

Jacqueline has lived in Gwinnett County since 2000 with her husband Louis Tseng and her son Benjamin. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. She is a first-generation refugee to the United States escaping the Khmer Rouge Genocide in Cambodia. You can find Jacqueline’s full bio here:  https://tsengforcongress.com/about-jacqueline/

Mark Gonsalves

Mark Gonsalves was born in New Bedford Massachusetts, son of first-generation Americans Beatrice and Lenine Gonsalves. Mark is a successful business leader, innovator, investor, and marketing executive. Mark is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth where he earned a BS degree in Accounting. Mark and Donna have resided in Johns Creek for the past five years and are the parents of one daughter, Taylor who is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama. Trump – His accomplishments and Lies – If you listen to the media you would think that President Donald Trump has done nothing during his time in office and that he lies constantly.  It turns out the exact opposite is true!  In just a few short years Trump has some incredible accomplishments that conservatives would be thrilled with – if only they knew about them.  So the first part of this presentation will be to walk through some of the things that this president has done, most of which you have probably never heard about.

The second part will be to take a look at the alleged ‘lies’ the left has been cataloging.  The Washington Post claims that “President Trump has made 9451 false or misleading claims” as of their last tally at the end of March.  Is this possible?  The answer, of course, is ‘no,’ but for people who only read the headlines the conclusion they will reach is that just about everything he says is a lie.  We will take a look at some of the ‘lies’ the left is claiming and explain how they arrive at such a ridiculous number.

Thursday, May 2, 7 pm – Flying Machine Restaurant, 510 Briscoe Blvd, Lawrenceville, Georgia

Conservative talk show host Shelley Wynter – We are thrilled to have 106.7 radio host Shelley Wynter as our speaker!  Shelley is a Traditionalist and Conservative who desperately wants America to return to a time when morals, values, education, and marriage were honored and cherished.  If you have listened to him on air (6A-9A on The Shelley Wynter Show, 106.7 FM) then you know what he is about.  Covering a vast range of topics, from politics to UFO’s, Shelley is immensely entertaining and will make you think.  A conservative who never shies away from his support for president Donald Trump, Mr. Wynter will be sharing his perspectives on politics, local and national, and what he believes we need to do in order to save our Republic.  I can guarantee this will be an evening you do not want to miss!

Forsyth County Sheriff, Ron Freeman – Ron is a true conservative and an outstanding Sheriff.  Most people don’t realize the importance that your Sheriff has in protecting your freedoms, sometimes even from an overzealous government.  As an elected representative, the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer in the County.  Ron has dedicated nearly three decades of his life to law enforcement in the state of Georgia, including serving as Commander of the South Precinct and Chief of Detectives for Forsyth County. Now, he’s taking the next step in a lifetime of service to Forsyth County as Sheriff.  Come hear where his priorities lie and his plans to improve the lives of the citizens of Forsyth.

FAIR presents Everything You Need to Know About Immigration –

Jonathan Hanen from the Federation for American Immigration Reform will meet with the United Tea Party of Georgia to discuss the national crisis of illegal immigration, the current status of Congressional legislation on illegal immigration and border security, President Trump’s executive orders on asylum policy and the migrant caravans, the media firestorm over unlawful entry and family separation at the border, and the Trump administration’s public charge regulations.  He will review the federal crime statistics for illegal immigrants, the unlawful sanctuary city movement, and the fiscal costs of illegal immigration and refugee resettlement in Georgia.  He will also discuss grassroots strategy for advancing local government measures that support co-operation between federal immigration authorities and local law enforcement.

Practicing Situational Awareness – We plan a lot of things in our life, but unfortunately, we usually neglect to take this step in a scenario where it may save our lives.  With good planning, preparation and assessment you can be more responsive to yourself and others regardless of whether you are caught in a mass violence incident or any other emergency scenario.

Jay Guidry – Crypto currency, security and upcoming elections

Jay has lived in Cumming since 1998, with his wife and 2 daughters, and has been in IT security since 1999.  He is a Crypto Currency mining consultant and runs a commercial crypto mine.

Judge Paul Nally – 1st Amendment Right to Petition a Grand Jury

“It is the right of any citizen or any individual of lawful age to come forward and prosecute for offenses against the state, ….”

In those nations whose legal system are derived from the Common Law, the “rights” of citizens are usually defined in the document which acts as the “legal founding document” of that nation and is generally referred to as a constitution, which, in law, is understood to be a “special contract” between a people and their neighbors who would serve the social and economic needs of the masses as their public servants.

Among the rights which are guaranteed to be protected to an individual citizen are, at least, the fundamental rights, i.e., the rights of speech, petition, assembly, and religion; and other rights may be specified, implied, or found in the Common Law, i.e., possession of weapons, choice, privacy, being heard, and travel.  To understand the right of a citizen’s free access to a Grand Jury in Georgia, keep in mind the fundamental rights listed above, particularly petition, assembly, speech, and hearing.

Judge Nally will be speaking on this topic and then taking questions on any other subject you wish to ask.  Those of you who have heard him in the past know what an amazing resource he is on all things related to the law.  And an understanding of the actual law and how it is supposed to be applied is essential for our survival as a nation.

Judge Paul Nally is 72 years young. Past life, 1 year of Reinhardt College, Lockheed w/1 night quarter of John Marshall Law School, military, Justice of the Peace, city patrolman, Bartow County Deputy, Chief of Police for the City of White, Ga. Retired from the Georgia Dept of Transportation.

Meet Dr. Joe Profit, Candidate for US House of Representatives

Hank “Guam may tip over” Johnson finally has a challenger!  Republican Dr. Joe Profit is running for Congress in the 4th District.  Dynamic speaker and passionate conservative, Joe was a first round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 1971 and has run a number of successful businesses here in Georgia.  He is the founder and CEO of a $100 million international multimedia firm, Communications International Corporation. His company was ranked by INC. 500 Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately-held companies in America for three consecutive years.

Dr. Profit has served two sitting Presidents of the United States, President Ronald Reagan, and President George H. Bush, as he was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank, Atlanta, GA, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Small Business Advisory Committee, the International Trade Board Subcommittee for Policy, International Trade Board Subcommittee for Policy, the White House Small Business Advisory Committee, and the U.S. Department of Transportation Advisory Board.

Even if you don’t live in the 4th, come hear this man speak and learn how you can help his campaign!

Joining Dr. Profit will be Tracy Mason, runoff candidate for Superior Court Judge.  Tracy has experience both as a judge and a mediator and has visited our Tea Party meetings in the past.  Recent experiences have shown how important the position of judge can be, and when we have the responsibility to elect one we need to take the time to learn about the candidates.  Come hear about her reasons for running, get to know her a little before the runoff election on July 24, and also find out something about the person she is running against.

Colonel (Retired) Dennis T. Brown, Forsyth County Commissioner

We have what promises to be a fascinating speaker at our Cumming meeting this month! Mr. Dennis Brown retired as a Colonel from the Georgia National Guard/U.S. Army in August 2010 following a 30-year military career. His experience includes diverse fields of Infantry, Aviation, Tactical Operations; Intelligence; Anti-Terrorism, Homeland Security; Safety Management; Sales/Marketing/Recruitment, Public Affairs; Chemical, Joint Operations Center (JOC) operations, Human Resource Management, and Civil-Military Operations (CMO). Col Brown is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Flight School and has helicopter and fixed-wing qualifications.

Dennis returned from Afghanistan in 2010 after serving as Civil-Military Officer for Combined Joint Task Force “Phoenix” and then as Kabul Military Training Center Chief of Staff Mentor and Forward Operating Base “Alamo” Chief of Staff. Duties included planning, organizing and execution of civil-military operations and coordinating these activities with subordinate units and various non-governmental organizations (NGO) and the Afghan people.

And, in addition to all that, Dennis is also the Forsyth County District 2 Commissioner!

Greg Dolezal, candidate District 27 state Senate – Greg is running for the seat being vacated by Michael Williams, who is running for governor.  Greg is a strong conservative who has been very involved in Forsyth – and unlike one of his opponents has voted in past elections.  Forsyth issues like traffic and education are listed prominently on this website.

Of particular interest to conservatives are also his stance on Religious Freedom legislation in Georgia, his opposition to all tax increases, a pledge to do whatever he can to keep sanctuary cities out of our state, support for the second amendment and his desire to impose term limits on all elected officials.

Mark Weiss for Forsyth School Board District 1 The son of a school teacher, Mark has been a resident of Forsyth for 18 years.  He ran for school board 4 years ago, and learned a great deal in the process.  One of his concerns is the construction of three new schools and the task of redistricting the students.  Mark also feels that the school board must be more judicious and transparent by involving the community throughout the process of budgeting, spending and making other financial decisions for our schools.

Dooz Owings for District 1 Commissioner – Owings, who works in the telecommunications industry and has been a resident of Forsyth for several years.  “I moved to Forsyth County several years back because of the quality school system and quality of life standards,” Owings said. “I’ve enjoyed the heck out of it. I think it’s a great, wonderful community.”  This is Owings first time to run for office, and we always applaud those willing to put their names on the ballots.  According to the Forsyth County News, “If elected, Owings said the two things he most wants to pursue are managed growth and improving local infrastructure. “

Georgia Senator Hunter Hill, Candidate for Governor

Senator Hunter Hill is the first choice for Governor of the State of Georgia for many conservatives.  You have heard his ads and know a tiny bit about his military service and some basic thoughts he has about how he would run the State.  Now come and meet Mr. Hill and listen to what he thinks would make Georgia a better place to live over the next 4 years.

The importance of a strong conservative Governor has never been more obvious than it has in the past few years, so don’t miss this opportunity to ask

questions of a man could be in the office in 2019!

We will be discussing seats contested in the May 22 Republican Primary with several of the candidates.

Kipper Tabb is running for the District 97 House Seat being vacated by Brooks Coleman.  Kipper and his wife, Missy, have lived in the community for 28 years where three of their four children attended Gwinnett County Public Schools.  Formerly a small business owner, Kipper has spent 20 years in pastoral care ministry and is currently one of the pastors at Perimeter Church.

Kipper is also the National Faith Events Chair for TrailLife USA, a Christian Character Youth Development Ministry, Chairman of the Christian Library International that works to disciple to prisoners in all 50 states, and on the board of Waypoint Center, a yearlong Christian addiction recovery center.

Joining Kipper will be Steve Knudsen who is running for Gwinnett Board of Education, District 2 to replace retiring board member Dan Seckinger.

Steve has been involved in education for years and if elected would be a conservative Christian voice on the school board.  With an annual budget over $2 billion (not a typo – billion with a ‘b’) the use of taxpayer money and safety of our children are very hot topics.  We need to learn about the candidates who will be shaping the way our children are educated.

Georgia Rep. Brad Raffensperger; Candidate for Georgia Secretary of State

After serving on Johns Creek City Council for three years Brad won a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives in 2014.  After 4 years in the House, Brad is now running for Secretary of State.

In 2016 Brad authored HB 781 to require members of governmental boards and commissions to be citizens of the United States if they are in a position to raise taxes – a prescient move considering what just happened in California.  While this bill passed the House, it unfortunately never received a hearing in the Senate.  Brad was endorsed by Georgia Right to Life in his campaign for State Representative and earned an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association as a state legislator.  Come and hear why he wants to be our next Secretary of State and what changes he would like to make.

Also …

Bill Fielder, candidate for State Senate, District 27.  Bill is a 3rd generation Georgian who has lived in Forsyth for 20 years.  Come hear him talk about a Georgia FairTax, Constitutional Carry, Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), Sanctuary Cities and other issues of vital importance to Conservative voters.

Global Governance & the One World Order. Just how far have we come? – Kim Fletter

Kim Fletter will be the speaker at our next meeting on January 4th.  The information she will present will be difficult to believe, but the documentation she brings is irrefutable.

Almost everything the UN and other global governance organizations do is ‘hiding’ in plain sight.  Staring with the name itself, which is the very definition of a one world government, the United Nations is working to take your freedoms, little by little, year by year.  Unless you learn to recognize the methods and programs the UN and its globalist operatives use you may not know it when you see it.

Kim has done the research, and will present to you startling information that is being ignored by too many people.  Her presentation will expose the UN Agenda as you have never seen, using documents and information that are open and available to anyone who takes the time to look.  To view this body as only some sort of high level think tank is to miss the fact that they have well defined long term goals which they have successfully pushed down to federal, state and local governments all over our country.  Many of the decisions made by your local Planning and Zoning boards, and even some of the guidelines enforced by your local Home Owner Associations can be traced back to the UN.

State Representative and Secretary of State Candidate Buzz Brockway and Situational Awareness

In January the Georgia Legislature is back for the second half of their session, and we need to get ready now.  The left is feeling particularly feisty and is already looking to make gains at the state level across the country.  Georgia State Representative Brockway will be speaking about the upcoming legislative session, his race for Secretary of State, and, if there is time, the prospects for an Article V Convention of the States.

Buzz will not shy from answering difficult questions, so come prepared.  We especially want to know what issues he sees with the state government and what he believes needs to be done to increase liberty for all of Georgia’s citizens.

Also – Situational Awareness

Joining Buzz will be Major Kirk L. Williamson of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department.  Unfortunately this time if year is also famous for crimes of opportunity, and we all need to be on our guard.  Something that touches every facet of security regardless of the venue, age or situation is situational awareness, and Major Williamson knows that this is the most valuable tool with which we can arm ourselves.  Major Williamson has performed various roles with the Sheriff’s department including Court Security, Fugitive Investigations, Special Investigations, K-9 unit supervisor and S.W.A.T..  Don’t be a victim – learn what you need to do to protect yourself and your family!

Inside North Korea

North Korea is back in the news.  In fact, they never went away.  The people are oppressed and the leadership is dangerous.  The population starves so the military can grow, and  North Korean threats should not be taken lightly.  Consider the damage just a few people inflicted on 9/11 and then think about what a nation with the 4th largest military on the planet and an army of computer hackers could do.

Visit us for a presentation on North Korea and learn how this nation became the most isolated and closed country in the world, how their people live, what their military is like, and what may lie ahead.

Civics Education in Georgia 2017: Perceptions vs Realities

In the Fall of 2017 a special Ga. House Study Committee is holding hearings on the possible need for stronger civics education in Georgia . As a long-time education analyst specializing in History and Civics, Ken Craft has a unique perspective on the current standards and what improvements are needed. Along other topics, he will review the presentation he made to the study committee. As historical statues and even our National Anthem are under attack, please join us to get up to date on the situation and what you can do to change things.

Ken has been fighting for traditional values and Constitutional principles for years.  He and his wife Judy spend a great deal of time at the State Capital and send out voter guides to help people understand where candidates stand on issues of interest to conservative Georgians.

Cindy Lifsey on Situational Awareness

Even though we think we’re in a safe area up here, crime is creeping up fast and we must be alert and prepared so much more than in the past.  Cindy is a Native Atlantan – grew up in Doraville / Chamblee area.   After nursing school at North Ga. College she spent her 20+ yr clinical career in ER / ICU / CCU.  Cindy now consults with attorneys on their medical cases as an independent contractor.

She started shooting in 2011, and since that time has taken dozens of training classes, leading the ladies’ group at Sharp Shooters USA range in Roswell for the past four years.  She is a Life member of NRA and Georgia Carry and a regular participant in GADPA (Great American Defensive Pistol Association) shooting matches.  As you might imagine, Cinty is a STRONG supporter of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution, believing that its primary purpose is so the citizens would be able to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.

Gwinnett County Solicitor General Rosanna Szabo will be our speaker for this special meeting on the 24th, and will be talking about your rights (including gun rights) in Gwinnett  Rosanna is a very interesting speaker, and is open and knowledgeable about all types of crimes we see in the County, including how to lookout for the ever increasing scams that are moving through Georgia.   Because of the issues that the Solicitor’s office deals with, the Q&A portion of her presentation is always very helpful and informative.  With over 30 years as a prosecutor and 28 years in the Gwinnett Solicitor’s Office, Rosanna is one of the most experienced prosecutors in Georgia. She has been responsible for prosecuting thousands of cases each year including over 300 jury trials and over 100 appeals making her Georgia’s most experienced misdemeanor prosecutor. She has served as an instructor training prosecutors and police on domestic violence, DUI, and traffic laws.

Michael Williams

Michael Williams has been a Georgia State Senator, so we have some experience with him as a Representative.  He has always been accessible and willing to listen to constituents.  Now he is running for Governor, and has some ideas that we have not heard from any of the other candidates.  How much will he be able to accomplish?  What are his plans and goals?  Michael will be at our September meeting in Buford – come and meet him and find out why many conservatives that we respect have made him their first choice.

Insurance. It used to be a sure fire way to put people to sleep. Not any more!

Insurance is required for almost everything we do. From driving a car, to buying a house, to opening up a business or even getting a loan. And nobody has to remind us about healthcare!

In Buford we will hear from Jim Beck, one of the leading candidates for Georgia Insurance Commissioner. A self professed “insurance nerd,” Mr. Beck knows just about everything there is to know about the who, what, how and why when it comes to this topic. And he has some ideas of what we can do to improve the industry in Georgia.

James Alvarado, Georgia State Director for U.S. Term Limits, a group pushing for a resolution by the Georgia state House of Representatives to support an Article V Convention for a single-issue amendment for congressional term limits.  James Immigrated to the United States from Panama when he was 7 and became a naturalized American citizen in 2011. He took some time off from college and joined the army at 20, going through Infantry basic training at Fort Benning, GA. While at college he was active with the Campaign for Liberty and Young Americans for Liberty. In 2012 Mr. Alvarado became the youngest elected Vice Chairman of the Osceola County, FL GOP at 19 years old. When he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCF in December of 2015 he deployed overseas with the Florida National Guard in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Horn of Africa, and still serves in the military in a reserve status.

Greg Howard brings his “News and Views” show LIVE to Lawrenceville!

Greg hosts a 2 hour talk show each week on WJBB Radio and will be doing a special edition of the show during our meeting.  The show will be live-streamed on Facebook and we will take questions from those in attendance.  Greg and David Hancock will host, and will be joined by Matt Reeves, candidate for Georgia Senate District 48.  We plan to do this show just like we do in the studio!

Additionally it appears we will have a documentary film crew that is shooting a six-part documentary style project for Showtime tentatively titled “Bridging the Divide.

This will be our first attempt at taking the show on the road, so there might be a few hiccups.  But it will certainly be interesting and lots of fun.  Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this groundbreaking event!

We will start streaming the show early.  To watch, just visit our Facebook page by 7:30 on Thursday!

Marine Corps veteran Shane Hazel is running for Congress in the 7th District.  A United States Marine Corps veteran and graduate of the Army’s Airborne school, Shane fought in both the battle of Najaf and Fallujah, where he was wounded with a grenade and awarded the Navy Marine Corps Achievement for Valor in combat.  He returned stateside and graduated from the University of Georgia.

Shane will be running against 7th District Congressman Rob Woodall in the Republican primary next year, and is a dynamic speaker who wants to take the same zeal and passion he displayed serving our country on the battlefield into the halls of Congress.  And once you hear him speak you will have to admit he has a really good chance of making some changes.

Don’t think you can ever find a candidate for Congress who is as conservative as you are?  Well, you haven’t met Shane!

Congressman Rob Woodall

We kept this meeting a private so we would not be overrun with protesters to have a chance to actually hear from our Congressman.  And we did just that.  Rob talked for about 30 minutes then took over 20 questions, ranging from education to immigration to budget.  Perhaps the best meeting we have had with the Congressman, we had to call ‘time’ at some point so he could get back home.  While we received criticism from the usual suspects (AJC, for instance) we had to keep the visit by Congressman Woodall a closely guarded secret in order to learn what is going on in Washington.  Those familiar with our group know we welcome anyone, and are willing to give any credible person an opportunity to address our group.  We have had several elected Democrats take our stage, and we always learn something.  If you missed this, you really missed out.

Very exciting meeting with Atlanta attorney Kurt Martin, an expert on gun laws, personal protection and personal security.  In addition to speaking on these topics Kurt will give a presentation on the National Firearms Act (NFA) laws regarding exotic weapons like machine guns, short-barreled rifles, sawed-off shotguns, silencers (sound suppressors or “gun mufflers”) and similar modifications and discuss the current bill before Congress, the Hearing Protection Act, which has a lot of Republican / libertarian support.  This bill (H.R. 367, currently with 137 co-sponsors and support of the President) would be a rollback on government regulation, taxation, and red tape, especially dealing with the purchase of suppressors.  We also had a fascinating live fire demonstration, showing the effectiveness of silencers on guns ranging from .22 through 9mm and even an AR-15.

The United Nations – Kim Fletter

Almost everything the UN does is ‘hiding’ in plain sight.

Candidates for Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party Alex Johnson and Michael McNeely.

The future of the Republican Party is uncertain, but picking the right people to run the party is essential.  This year there are a number of good candidates, but each of them has unique qualifications and desires as to what they believe is most important.  Please take this opportunity to hear from some of them and ask them questions, especially if you are going to be a delegate to the State GOP convention June 2-3 in Augusta.

Michael McNeely – Mr. McNeely is running for Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party.  He has promised to bring conservatives back to the GOP and enforce and strengthen the principals of the Republican Party.  He wants accountability to We the People, for the people, by the people.  Come and meet Michael and ask him questions about his ideas for the Georgia GOP in 2017 and beyond.

Josh McKoon – State Senator Josh McKoon needs no introduction.   Champion of last year’s Religious Liberty bill and a bold fighter for individual liberty and conservative principles, Senator McKoon has even been attacked by Republican leadership in the Georgia Assembly, losing his chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  A thorn in the side of liberals and many old guard Republicans, Josh is not giving up.  Come hear his plans for 2017 and what we can do to help him.

Georgia Constitutional Amendments and the Electoral College

In addition to a discussion of the proposed amendments to the Georgia Constitution that will be on the ballot in November we will have a discussion about the Electoral College and a presentation on the National Popular Vote (NPV) movement by Patrick Rosenstiel.  NPV will be an issue that will probably be brought up in the GA Legislature next session, and if you were at our Lawrenceville meeting in October you heard the case against NPV.  Patrick is flying into Atlanta just to speak to our group and bring us the case for the NPV.  You really need to hear both sides to understand this issue.

Patrick Rosenstiel is the CEO of Ainsley Shea and a senior consultant with National Popular Vote. He is Chairman of the Board at the Institute for Research on Presidential Elections and serves on several other non-proft and corporate Boards of Directors. Rosenstiel began his professional life in American politics consulting and working for countless conservative candidates, elected officials and causes. He was Regional Political Director for Steve Forbes and served in senior communications roles for efforts to confrm Justices Alito and Roberts to the Supreme Court of the United States. Rosenstiel led several key efforts in the upper Midwest to implement and pass President Bush’s domestic policy agenda. He also launched Families United For Our Troops and Their Mission – the largest organization of Gold Star and Blue Star Families outside of the US Military. Rosenstiel led California’s state wide voucher initiative – Proposition 38 – and worked with Speaker Gingrich and countless others to take Republican control of Congress and begin the conservative political realignment of the United States of America. Friends call him Rosie and he lets you decide.

The Sordid History of Political Correctness

AFP_LeadershipAcademy

Political Correctness didn’t begin in the 1980s; it has been part of an insidious political philosophy dating back more than a century. Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has a brand new presentation that covers this important topic, and they have agreed to use our Tea Party meeting as part of the debut.  These seminars are put on by professional instructors that AFP brings in just for the meeting.  Participants will learn some history of Political Correctness, how it has reshaped American politics, and discuss the need to stand up against the onslaught.

This seminar is presented by Americans for Prosperity Foundation’s Grassroots Leadership Academy, a state-of-the-art training program for citizen activists who want to make a difference at the federal, state, and local level. These education programs are designed to build the leadership skills you need to fight for freedom and against the progressive policies and false narratives of the left.

U.S. Senate Candidate Allen Buckley

AllenBuckley

Mr. Buckley is the Libertarian candidate running for United States Senate and has a message that will resonate with many of those that attend our monthly meetings.  His platform consists mainly of (a) reasonably reducing the size and scope of the federal government, while solving the nation’s financial problems; (b) limiting the powers of the Executive Branch to those granted by the Constitution; (c) increasing the power of individuals and states; and (d) simplifying the tax system and reforming the entitlements system so the U.S. can potentially last indefinitely. We need to head back towards our roots, in terms of less regulation, less entitlements, less foreign intervention, less debt, and more personal liberty and responsibility.

I don’t know about you, but this is a platform I can get behind.  Want to know more?  Come and hear from the candidate himself!

How bad is the threat from Islam to our way of life?

david-bores-1

David Bores discusses the growing terrorist attacks around the world and the current threat of Jihad to the US.  Why are we seeing a seeming increase in smaller, ‘lone wolf’ terror attacks?  Is more of the same on the way?  How could terrorists use our current immigration policies to their advantage?  David has spoken at our meetings before, and we frequently look to him to help us put the latest news into perspective.

David has been in public service for over 45 years. He has been an adjunct instructor on the Islamic threat for the Georgia Police Academy, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, and for the Center of Security Policy. Previously he was the Chief of Police for the City of Woodstock from January, 2009 to December, 2011 and was employed by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 to 2009 where he held the rank of major. He also served for 23 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1991 in the grade of Lieutenant Colonel. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville and holds two Master’s of Science degrees, one in Public Administration from Georgia College and State University and the other in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University. He is a former member of the adjunct faculty of criminal justice at Kennesaw State University, has previously taught at Reinhardt and at Georgia State Universities.

WilliamsMichael856

What are we doing as a group to change things?  We want to move our country back toward a limited government based on founding principles.  How do we do that?

One of the ways is to find, follow and help to pass important legislation.  While difficult at the federal level, we can really make a difference at the State level.

At this meeting we will have Senator Michael Williams talk us through some of the most important legislation he will be working on in 2017.  Issues like an Article V convention on term limits, prohibiting public financing of professional stadiums, keeping illegal aliens from obtaining driver’s licenses in Georgia and the Georgia Religious Freedom Restoration Act.  The session may seem a long way away, but now is the time to start getting ready!

timmy_barr

United Tea Party of Georgia welcomes Representative Timothy Barr to our Lawrenceville meeting.  Rep. Barr is one of 25 sponsors of the Georgia Fair Tax Act of 2016 (HB 1141) and very active in the Convention of States movement in Georgia, otherwise known as an Article V Convention.

Tim will be providing an update on both of these very big ideas and will take your questions on these and any other topics.

Work is already underway for next year’s session, and important legislation (like a new push for Campus Carry and Religious Liberty Legislation) will need our help to pass!

You can hear her radio show Saturdays on WSB Radio from 3 to 6 p.m.

Doors open at 6 p.m. if you want to come early and order BBQ.

A week from this meeting the Republican National Convention begins, and there is a move to Free the Delegates to allow them to vote for the candidate of their choice on the first ballot.  A Delegate and member of the rules committee will be introducing a rules change (which may actually only be a clarification) and there is an increasing chance that this resolution will make it to the floor.  If it does, what are the chances of it passing?  Will this mean we could have a different Republican nominee than Donald Trump?  The people pushing delegate independence are becoming more organized daily.

Also – an update on the progress to call an Article V Convention of the States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution.  Now that many legislatures are out of session, where does the movement stand?

BREXIT!

CraigFleisher

One of the biggest changes in recent history will be Britain’s exit from the European Union.  So tonight we are very excited to have Dr. Craig Fleisher bring us up to speed.  Dr. Fleisher received his PhD in Business from the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, his MBA in Human Resource Management and Marketing from Vanderbilt, and BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida.  As you can see from a quick Amazon search Craig has written over a dozen books, mostly on the topics of Business and Competitive Analysis, and is a sought after speaker worldwide.  He is an expert in international public affairs and government relations and has been teaching at a university in the UK for over 10 years.  His upcoming book, due out at the end of the year, is entitled the “Handbook of International Corporate and Public Affairs” and was written with a former British Member of Parliament.

Some questions we will be discussing:

– The history of the European Union
– Some of the reasons Britain got out
– What will happen next to Britain, EU, other countries
– What about the EU trying to ‘meld’ countries into larger ones
Brexit is fascinating, not only in that it is so current but more so because of what it portends for the the UK, the rest of the EU, and eventually, us!
JayRyerse

Computer security expert Jay Ryerse of Carvir will talk about Enterprise Cyber Security. Even if you don’t use a computer, your life is online and everyone wants to access it. From criminals stealing identities and credit card numbers to rogue governments hacking into the Defense Department, safeguarding our information is becoming more and more difficult. Jay will talk us through this topic, giving very practical and useful tips you can use along the way. Come hear stories from his over 20 years in the business and discover the most common mistakes people make that leaves them open to hackers.

One of the most technical people you will meet, Jay also has the ability to simplify the complicated. Learn the extent of the issue, why nobody seems to be able to guarantee the safety of our data, and what the future may hold.

Jay spoke at our Cumming meeting and it was fascinating – well worth your time!  Computer experts and novices alike enjoyed it and everybody learned something.  Click HERE for an article on the meeting from the Forsyth County News.

How to Pay off the National Debt in 8 Years

TrumpPayOffDebt

Donald Trump claims we could pay off the national debt in 8 years.  Is Donald Trump Out of His Mind?  Maybe…but then again maybe not. Is the $19 trillion national debt simply a function of Congress overspending? What about the $45 trillion in outstanding private US debt, are the American people just living beyond their means? Answer? No, and no. So, would it be possible to pay off the full debt in a two term presidency?

Join us as Lanier Tea Party President Hank Sullivan explains, in layman’s terms, what the national debt is, how it got to where it is, how under the present circumstances it is impossible to pay off, but also how making a slight change in the way the US Government does its business, without interrupting the flow of commerce, Mr Trump could meet, or even shorten his stated time frame.

Hank will be introduced by former 2016 Republican US Senate candidate, Derrick Grayson.  Libertarian US Senate candidate Allen Buckley will also make an appearance, and we may even see Dr. Mary Kay Bacallao.

Take a look at this video to get an idea of what you will see on Thursday!

BJ

We are honored to have Mr. BJ Van Gundy as our speaker for our first meeting in our new location.  BJ has been one of the leaders in the Republican Party in Georgia and nation wide for many years.  A veteran of may elections and conventions (and a delegate to the 2016 GOP convention in Cleveland), he will give us an idea of what we can expect out of the Republicans when they meet in July.  Come with all your questions about delegate selection, party rules and parliamentary procedure – BJ has done it all and is one of the most knowledgeable people you will meet.

LucretiaHughes

We always encourage non-politicians to run for office, so when we find one we want to let you meet them!  Lucretia Hughes is someone who was fed up enough to take on an incumbent.  Tonight we will meet Lucretia and find out just why she is a candidate for Georgia State House District 116. Lucretia is Vice President of Lanier Tea Party Patriots, former Assistant Secretary for the Barrow County GOP, and is a member of Barrow County Republican party.  She is a strong advocate for Religious Freedom, wants to stop Refugee Resettlement in Georgia, and vows to try and eliminate unnecessary tax hikes and state fees.

RicardoDavis

Are you fed up with the two mainstream political parties?  If so, we have someone you should meet.  We are honored to have Ricardo Davis, State Chairman of the Constitution Party, as one of our speakers.  Mr. Davis will explain the who/what/why of the Constitution Party and bring a message titled “A Vision of Victory-The Message of the Constitution Party of Georgia”.

Time permitting, we will also have a brief presentation and Q&A about the upcoming Republican National Convention.  We will have one of the delegates on hand to explain the process and give his opinion of what we might expect in Cleveland in July.

“THE THREAT OF JIHAD, IMMIGRATION, AND IZLAMIZATION TO OUR CULTURE”

david-bores-1

Lieutenant Colonel David Bores, USA, Retired, a veteran of Georgia Law Enforcement and instructor for the Georgia Police Academy, will detail the current threat of Jihad to the US as exemplified by the attacks in Brussels, Paris, and San Bernardino in late 2015. While, many government and public officials do not yet acknowledge the theological basis for these attacks, the general public remains fearful of more homegrown jihadi violence. At the same time the Muslim Brotherhood is quietly working on a variety of fronts to drastically change our culture and to subvert the US Constitution. One such method is through Muslim immigration. The presentation addresses how this is being promoted by non-government organizations, many affiliated with mainstream religious groups.  We explore the theological basis for Islamic immigration and the steps being followed to incrementally change the culture where Muslim immigrants are accepted.

Mr. Bores will discuss the influence of Saudi Arabia through its link to Hillary Clinton’s advisor Huma Abedin and her family through the work of the “Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs;” the means by which public officials and local policies are influenced by Saudi finances; and the role of mosques and how they inspire their attendees through the types of violent literature and religious teachings offered at over 81% of mosques in America.   Finally, the presentation covers the alliance of Islamists to members of the far left and how, together, they work to fundamentally change America.

JoshMcKoonPress

Unfortunately, most State Senators are not even known in their district.  Rarely will his name be heard throughout the state, and almost never on the national stage.  But when you take a stand, folks start to notice.

People all over the country have either hailed Senator Josh McKoon as a Hero or vilified him as “The Cruelest Republican in Georgia.”  Senator McKoon is the original sponsor of Georgia’s Religious Liberty bill (ending up as the now famous House Bill 757), Senate Bill 6 to limit driver’s licenses for illegal aliens and a supporter of House Bill 859, the Campus Carry bill.

Join us in Suwanee as Senator McKoon discusses these and other bills that came through the General Assembly this year and find out what we can do to help these bills become law here in Georgia.  Now is the time to act!

Thursday, April 7, 7:30 pm, Flying Machine Restaurant, 510 Briscoe Blvd, Lawrenceville, GA.

AlexGimenez

Alex Gimenez, the American born son of Cuban and Argentine refugees who fled communist Cuba in 1961 will bring us a very timely and  shocking update on what life is really like in Cuba.  As the current administration seeks to spread the Cuban propaganda, Mr. Gimenez is one of the few voices who speaks the truth and will tell us what is really motivating the renewed interest.  With first hand photos, documents and accounts he traces the history of the Communist terror in the past and documents the reality that still exists inside Cuba – a reality hidden by the Cuban regime, and ignored by the US media and special interests pressuring for investing in Cuba.

You may think you know something about this very strategic country just off our southern coast, but what you learn in this presentation will cause you to rethink our growing coziness with the Castro regime.

Alex is a 30 year veteran of corporate America and has held a variety of senior business development positions in Fortune 50 companies. Alex Gimenez, the son of Cuban immigrants, and a life long Republican,

Ron_Freeman_headshot

Ron Freeman, one of the candidates for Sheriff of Forsyth County, will be one of our speakers.  A graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College, Ron has been in law enforcement for almost 30 years.  You may think the difference between a Sheriff and a police officer is just a matter of jurisdiction, but the fact that a Sheriff is elected means he works for you in stead of some municipality.  Among other topics, Ron will be disusing:

  • The difference between police and Sheriff
  • Powers of a Sheriff
  • What is a deputy, how are they authorized, for how long, etc.
  • What he would do in the face of a crisis, when, perhaps, federal or state government wanted to confiscate guns and/or impose martial law
  • What are the biggest problems in the Cumming/Forsyth area
SEC-Primary-Sticker

Georgia’s Presidential Primary will be exactly one week after our meeting, so this will be a night of Presidential Politics.  At the very least we will have people speaking for Trump, Cruz, Rubio and Kasich.  Come to the meeting and get campaign signs for your favorite candidate!

We will also be talking about the Electoral College.  There is pending legislation in Georgia to move our state from a the traditional Electoral College to a national popular vote, and a vote could come as early as Wednesday (the day after this meeting) in the House.  You need to know about this movement.  Stay tuned as this develops…

A U.S. Law Shield attorney will explain the gun laws in Georgia.

Have you considered buying a gun?  What about carrying one with you?  Who can carry a gun, and where?  Who can carry a gun openly?  What about “gun free zones?”  What will the police say if they see you with a gun?  What will people in restaurants say?  What if a movie theater has a “No Guns” policy – can you carry a gun inside anyway?  And if you ever have to use it, realize this – innocent gun owners go to jail every day for exercising their right of self-defense. Don’t let it happen to you!

Find out how to carry, why to carry, and where to carry, and find out how to protect yourself after you’ve pulled the trigger.

We will have representatives from U.S. Law Shield – attorneys who specialize in the exercise of our 2nd Amendment Rights.  Come to this informative (and very entertaining) presentation and be prepared with your questions!

2010-01-29 -- cobb school board retreat -- David Morgan, Cobb County school board member, talks at school board retreat at Cobb Chamber of Commerce on Friday afternoon.STAFF/ SAMANTHA WILSON

But wait – there’s more!  The meeting will open with Cobb County School Board member David Morgan explaining why we need CHOICE in our school system.  If you have never heard David speak, you are in for a treat – he is truly an evangelist when it comes to fighting for the rights of parents to select the school that is best for THEIR child.  Come to hear David and find out what YOU can do this legislative session to help Georgia take a step toward a public school system where parents can be in charge!

Join us for an exciting discussion about Georgia politics!  What happens during the 40 days of the Georgia General Assembly affects our lives on a daily basis, and there are some interesting bills that have been introduced already that stand a good chance of passing.  We will talk about these bills with Georgia Representatives David Clark and Dewey McClain, Education Advocate Meg Norris,  the Georgia Grass Roots Director for Americans for Prosperity,  Georgia Carry.org Executive Directory Jerry Henry and others.  Some of the bills to be discussed:

  • HB-731 would ban “assault weapons.” In an interview with the bill’s author (Mary Oliver) she said she would really like a way to confiscate them.
  • A proposal to force any new EPA regulations to be approved (in some form) by the State Legislature.
  • HB 543 – Constitutional Carry (allegedly, but maybe not really).
  • Constitutional amendment to make English the official language of the state of Georgia.
  • Fair tax for Georgia?
  • SB 129/HB 218 – Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)
EdwardHayes

Well, the world is not becoming a safer place.  Will Saudi Arabia go to war with Iran?  The events of the last year, at home and abroad, have destabilized a third of the globe and threatened us here in the homeland.

Former Military Intelligence Officer Edward Hayes will be our speaker.  Chief Warrant Officer Hayes spent almost 30 years in the military, the majority of it in the Army.  Just before his retirement Mr. Hayes was stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and his main focus was the Kurds and the politics of our military strategy in the middle east.  He was there in Afghanistan when Seal Team VI took out Osama Bin Laden.  He worked with the interrogator that got Saddam Hussein’s driver to break silence.  He engineered the capture of the Lord’s Resistance Army’s highest ranking General. He has stood eye-to-eye with the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and African Child Soldiers. He reported his mission activity directly back to 4-Star Generals and US Ambassadors.

Don’t miss the chance to hear from this American Hero!

JoeNewton

Refugee Resettlement Relief Executive Director Joe Newton.  Joe has been on the forefront of Georgia immigration issues, specifically forced resettlement of refugees by the government.  Joe has been closely following what is happening to our state because of the flood of immigrants being settled right here north of Atlanta.  Mr. Newton will give us the latest information and answer all of our questions.

Joe attended John Marshall Law School and graduated in 2 years with Juris Doctorate, Summa Cum Laude, with the highest academic average ever in the history of the law school.  He then attended Atlanta Law School 1992-93 where he graduated with a Masters in litigation.  He has been a law clerk and has served as an aid to a number of Georgia legislators.
He works tirelessly to try and stop the flow of refugees being forced on Georgians.

Dr. Amanda Wilsker, Assistant Professor of Economics at Georgia Gwinnett College.

One of our major concerns is the economy, so we have asked Dr. Wilsker if she could let us pick her brain a bit.

In addition to Dr. Wilsker we also had the opportunity to meet John Doran, Judge of the State Court of Gwinnett County.  He is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and has lived in Gwinnett County since 1977.  He worked as a trial attorney for 30 years in Lawrenceville, and was first appointed to the State Court by Governor Perdue in January of 2007.

Judge Doran brought more experience to the Court than any trial judge who has ever served in Gwinnett County.  He was re-elected in 2008 and in 2012, and will be running for re-election in 2016 in the May 24th primary.

Georgia State Senator Michael Williams and Georgia State Representative Sheri Gilligan – GA Legislative Update

WilliamsMichael856
Gilligan

In January the Georgia Legislature is back in session, and we need to get ready now.  To have an impact, you need to be on a first name basis with your elected officials and know what they are working on.  It is difficult to affect change on a national level, but I promise you can have an impact locally!

Over the next months we will be bringing in Representatives and Senators to our meetings for you to meet, learn from, and ask questions.  You can, and should, hold them accountable!  Some likely issues include Casino Gambling, Education Savings Accounts, Religious Freedom – and more taxes.  But we might also see attempts at recreational marijuana use, gun restrictions and no-knock warrants.
Most of these folks will also be running for election next year.  Wouldn’t it be great to have a neighbor ask you about the election and be able to say that you personally know the candidate?  That you have his cell number programmed in your phone?

Gilligan

Sheri Gilligan, new State Representative for House District 24, will headline our meeting in Cumming.  Sheri graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1981. For generations, her family were poor dirt farmers off of Franklin Goldmine Rd., her parents sacrificed so that she could have opportunities that they never had.

Sheri graduated from the University of Georgia and went on to work for the Central Intelligence Agency.  Her work with the CIA helped protect us from national threats. Now Sheri will be protecting us from an overbearing tyrannical government!  Come here Sheri in one of her first talks as our new Representative as she tells us what she hopes to accomplish under the Gold Dome!

MegNorris

What are schools doing with your child’s data?  This presentation was so powerful in Suwanee we knew we had to present it in Lawrenceville also.  You will have a difficult time believing the information you will hear, but Gwinnett Schools now collect more information than ever on our children, from age, sex, aptitude to BMI and outside interests.  Companies wishing to market to these kids can purchase the data and use it to reach them in ways never before possible.

Writer, teacher, advocate and doctoral candidate Meg Norris has done extensive research on these and other shocking facts about what goes on in the modern public school.  It is no longer just about reading, writing and arithmetic!  Come to this very important meeting and see how far things have come.  If you have a child in the Gwinnett Public School system it is a presentation that you cannot afford

George Birnbaum on Fox News George Birnbaum on Fox News

Middle East expert George Birnbaum, former Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was the featured speaker at the Cumming meeting in August.  Mr. Birnbaum, a frequent guest on CNN and Fox News, has worked with leaders throughout Europe and the Middle East – Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Kosovo, Serbia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and especially Israel – and has worked on dozens of United States Congressional and Senatorial races.  As some of you may remember, Mr. Birnbaum was scheduled a few months ago and was called to Israel at the last minute.  He joined us live via Skype from Israel and gave the absolute latest on the recent election and took our questions.

DrRobertMcClure

Back to School 2!  For those who live closer to Lawrenceville, the speaker at our Lawrenceville meeting will be Dr. Robert McClure, Gwinnett County School Board and Vice Chairman.  Dr. McCLure is the Board member who represents District IV, which includes all or portions of the Berkmar, Brookwood, Grayson, Meadowcreek, Parkview, Shiloh, and South Gwinnett clusters – including South Gwinnett HS, Shiloh ES and Brookwood.

The School Board is in charge of funding and direction for all of Gwinnett County public schools.  Come and meet Dr. McClure and find out what the school board does and what plans they have for the upcoming year – including the special sales tax they will be asking for to build new schools around Gwinnett.  School Board members are not often out doing presentations and answering questions, so do not miss this opportunity!

DanielSeckinger

Back to School 1!  We are privileged to have Gwinnett County School Board member Daniel D. Seckinger as our speaker this month.  Mr. Seckinger is the Board member who represents District II, which includes the schools around Suwanee and Buford including parts of the Central Gwinnett, Collins Hill, Lanier, Mill Creek, Mountain View, and North Gwinnett clusters.

The School Board is in charge of funding and direction for all of Gwinnett County public schools.  Come and meet Mr. Seckinger and find out what the school board does and what plans they have for the upcoming year – including the special sales tax they will be asking for to build new schools around Gwinnett.  School Board members are not often out doing presentations and answering questions, so do not miss this opportunity!

Reclaiming America” – Richard Arena

It has been five years since the beginning of the Tea Party movement.  While the movement has certainly made an impact on the political scene, still government is growing even as individual rights, American culture and the free enterprise system are under constant assault.  Reclaiming America is about how we who are in the vanguard of resistance to the unconstitutional acts of government can restore federalism and the rule of law.

The First Terrorist World War

EdwardHayes

The events of the last year, at home and abroad, have destabilized a third of the globe and threatened us here in the homeland.  Understand it and hold your elective representatives accountable for resolving it.

Who is the Grinch that Stole State Sovereignty?

MikeScupin

This presentation, given by Tea Party leader Mike Scupin, discusses the all important issue of State Sovereignty.  With the federal government grabbing all the power it can, the States need to understand their rights under the Constitution.  This talk will center around questions like: From where did the concept of sovereignty originate?  What is the origin of the concept of “We the People?”  Do people have sovereignty or is it just a government that has sovereignty?  What exactly did our Founders mean by “We the People?”  Does “We the People” mean only that we have a vote in elections?  Is the concept of Jury nullification a legitimate idea?  Is there a higher authority than the U.S. Constitution?

The Chair has spoken with us on several occasions and always has something exciting to tell us about Gwinnett.  This is a special chance for us to have direct access to the person who runs one of the largest counties in the country, so please take advantage of this opportunity.  You will not be disappointed.

The history of the party system in the U.S. and how it impacts our elections.  Like the modern day Tea Party, the Republican Party of 1854 was created out of opposition to the ruling party. Most people in this nation do NOT know the accurate history of both parties, especially Democrats and Americans who are black or African Americans. “Hope and Change” was incredibly successful as who knows how many millions of people voted simply because of this slogan.  Our speaker, Marc Urbach, believes that the Republican slogan should be, “Just the Facts, Just the Truth.”

Until 2013 Mr. Urbach worked for the Gwinnett County school system, where he taught United States history, World history and Economics.  His main area of interest is on the Founding Father era, the Judeo-Christian Foundation of America and the seven Supreme Court cases that removed religion from our public schools.  His second book, titled, “Can America be Saved? Do we need a Third Great Awakening?,” is scheduled for release in July.

Principles Project will fill us in on the new AP U.S. History syllabus currently being taught in our schools.  This biased course minimizes discussion of our Founding Fathers, the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the religious influences on our nation’s history.  No mention is made of important individuals like Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Rosa Parks or Dr. Martin Luther King. What you will discover in this presentation will alarm you.

Jane will be joined by Michael Williams, State Senator for District 27, and Mark Hamilton, State Representative for House District 24.  They will be talking about the transportation bill (HB 170) and what might happen to it as it moves to the Senate.  It is an honor to have these two men who represent the Cumming area give us the latest on the Georgia General Assembly.
Georgia is moving toward allowing Medical Marijuana.  But is the name really accurate?  The federal government lists Marijuana as a Schedule I drug, meaning it has a high potential for abuse and has no currently accepted medical use.  Billy Wise has done extensive research on Georgia House Bill 1, also known as “Haleigh’s Hope Act,” and will be presenting  surprising information that he has uncovered.  Are we being taken for a ride with this bill?  What exactly are its supporters trying to accomplish?  This legislation is certainly controversial and should result in a very lively discussion.

Brian Kemp, Georgia’s Secretary of State, will be our speaker at the February meeting in Lawrenceville.  Responsibilities of the secretary’s office include supervising and monitoring elections and providing campaign finance disclosure; managing and preserving public records; providing educational programs about the capitol; and licensing, monitoring, and registering professionals and businesses.

There are some new ideas on ballot access (making it easier for anyone to put their name on the ballot to run for office, not just having to run through one of the two parties) and we will be asking him about that as well as finding out how we can be assured that our voting process is secure and all votes are counted accurately as we head into a very important presidential election in 2016.

The 2015 session of the Georgia General Assembly is just getting started, and there are some huge issues that will be decided in the next three months: Drivers Licenses for illegal aliens, Religious Freedom for business owners, ten cent per gallon fuel tax, campus carry (students and teachers), medical marijuana and others. It’s time for you to come and get informed on these pending bills and more.

JULIANNE THOMPSON, lifetime member of the Electoral College and one of the original founders of the Tea Party movement will be one of several to speak about issues we need to look for in this session of the Georgia Assembly. We want to talk about how to get involved and how to change the direction of our State and our Country.  Please join us!

Jane Robbins, an attorney and a senior fellow with the American Principles Project in Washington, DC. will give us the latest on the new AP US History that is being taught for the first time in Gwinnett schools.  A curriculum developed by anonymous unaccountable entities in DC, it conflicts radically with Georgia Performance Standards and stresses group accomplishments over individualism.  Told from a world perspective, it leaves out almost all of our traditional heroes like Jefferson, Madison, and even Dr. King.  Jane is a true expert on what is happening to our schools, including Common Core, and has crafted federal and state legislation designed to restore the constitutional autonomy of states and parents in education policy, and to protect the rights of religious freedom and conscience.  We all need to know what our schools are teaching the next generation. Also – What is the ARC?  How do they have so much power?  Where does that power come from?  Sixteen of the 39 ARC board members have no direct accountability to citizens in any way, it is almost impossible for citizens to speak at their meetings, and yet their actions affect us all.  Regionalism and Planning expert Field Searcy will fill us in on this vital topic.

George Birnbaum

George Birnbaum George Birnbaum, Middle East expert and former Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will be the featured speaker at the Gwinnett Tea Party.

Middle East expert George Birnbaum, former Chief of Staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will be the featured speaker at the Lawrenceville meeting.

Also

Libertarian Candidate for US Senate Amanda Swafford will drop by to tell us why she is running for Senate and answer questions.  Amanda’s first goal is to bring the federal government in alignment with its primary purpose of preserving and protecting individual rights and in doing so, believes we could operate the federal government without any federal income tax at all, thereby first calling for a repeal of the 16th Amendment and an implementation of the FairTax.

Security at home and overseas will be our Theme this month.  Former Military Intelligence Officer Edward Hayes will be our initial speaker.  Chief Warrant Officer Hayes spent almost 30 years in the military, the majority of it in the Army.  Most recently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, Mr. Hayes is considered one of the foremost authorities on the Kurds and the politics of our military strategy in the middle east.  Mr. Hayes spoke at our Lawrenceville meeting and was very well received.

We are privileged to have as our second speaker Refugee Resettlement Relief Executive Director Joe Newton.  Joe has been on the forefront of Georgia immigration issues, specifically forced resettlement of refugees by the government.  Joe has been closely following what is happening to our state because of the flood of immigrant children now coming across our southern border and being settled right here in Gwinnett County and the metro area.  Mr. Newton will give us the latest information and answer all of our questions.

Libertarian candidate for Governor Dr. Andrew Hunt

Former Military Intelligence Officer Edward Hayes generously agreed to fill in as our featured speaker when our original guest was called out of the country at the last minute.  Chief Warrant Officer Hayes spent almost 30 years in the military, the majority of it in the Army, most recently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Mr. Hayes is considered one of the foremost authorities on the Kurds and the politics of our military strategy in the middle east.

Also we are privileged to have Dr. Andrew Hunt, the Libertarian candidate for the Georgia gubernatorial race speaking at the same meeting.  Dr. Hunt received a PhD in Minerals Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a pioneer in the field of nanotechnology.  Dr. Hunt joined in the race for Georgia Governor in order serve his country and make a difference. He plans to use his background in the high-tech industry to create innovative solutions. He believes, like many, that the two party system is antiquated and a large percentage of citizens are looking for an alternative.  We welcome Dr. Hunt and look forward to what he has to say.

WHY THE 2014 ELECTION MATTERS: THE THREAT OF ISLAMISM TO AMERICA – Four key areas will be addressed: How the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the White House and the federal government, how Islamism has already become integrated into our legal and judicial system, how the military has purged Islam from all their training, and how Islamism has influenced public education.

David R. Bores will be the presenter.  He gave a talk on Sharia Law and women at our Lawrenceville meeting, and it was one of the best presentations we have seen.  Mr. Bores has been in public service for over 45 years, having served most recently as the Chief of Police for the City of Woodstock from January, 2009 to December, 2011 and previously as a senior officer and member of the command staff of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 to 2009 where he held the rank of major. He is a member of the adjunct faculty of criminal justice at Kennesaw State University, has previously taught at Reinhardt University and at Georgia State University, and is a POST certified general instructor.

  1. Anti-ex president material makes you excited? WTF happened to this country’s civility, decency and respect for institutions? Sad.

  2. Trump was never a true conservative from a fiscal point of view. He leverages the fed (tariffs, penalties, etc.) to influence markets rather than allowing the free market to do so. Also, he does not surround himself with those who understand business; instead, he has “yes-men”. How anyone could back him rather than other true conservatives is beyond me.
