Gwinnett County Local Emergency Order No. 1-4
For the average citizen (not first responders, government workers, etc.) Gwinnett County is CLOSED and you must stay at home unless you are performing an Essential Activity such as:
- Tasks essential to health and safety of you, your family, or your pet such as going to the doctor or obtaining medical supplies
- To get materials to work from home
- To get food or cleaning supplies
- To deliver food or cleaning supplies to someone else
- To participate in an outdoor activity where you will be more than six feet from others (walking, hiking, etc.)
- To provide products and services for Essential Businesses
- To perform work or services at an Essential Business
- To care for a family member or pet outside your home
- To perform construction work (public or private)
You must close your business to customers unless your employees can work from home or unless you are an Essential Business such as:
- Healthcare
- Grocery stores and farmers
- The Press
- Gas stations and auto repair locations
- Banks
- Hardware Stores
- Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, etc.
- Postal and shipping facilities
- Laundry services
- Restaurants that deliver
- Businesses that supply products for people to work from home
- Businesses that supply other Essential Businesses
- Shipping and delivery services
- Airlines, taxies, private transportation services
- Hotels, motels, etc.
- Lawyers, accountants, realtors, etc.
- Daycare
NOTE: If you own a business that is not an Essential Business you are still allowed to perform activities to maintain the value of inventory, ensure security, process payroll, and benefits
You cannot even travel outside the home (by car, bike, walking, or any method) unless:
- Travel is related to an essential activity
- Travel is to care for vulnerable people
- You are returning home (either inside or outside Gwinnett)
- You are under court order
Public gatherings of all kinds are prohibited except for “members of a household”
